This is my first attempt to paint with a palatte knife. At the very end, I did add a bit of cobalt violet with a brush, very close to the sides of the pear.
It can out great. Next time try a bigger painting. You need a real small palette knife to paint that small. I have used a credit card cut in thin strips to lay in small color patches.
You might like to watch Brian in one of his brush/knife workshops. He has some neat tricks. I have been painting oils with knife & brush for a long time. When I started learning watercolor at the beach I took a break. I will do more this year with acrylic classes. It is a rather fast procedure but uses a lot of paint. I like to do an oil or acrylic painting and then tweak the highlights & a few darks with knife.
